Little Library: Favorite books for infants and toddlers

Want to freshen up your bedtime book line up? These options from our little library at home are sure to keep your little one's attention.

If you're tired of reading the same books over and over again, you're not alone! I have a few I really like and you might want to try.

Let's be honest, not every book keeps our kid's attention. In fact, when I find a good one it's like I've struck gold!

My daughter is almost 2 and these options are good for any toddler and infants at every stage.

1. Yummy YUCKY - She has the funniest facial expressions and reactions when we read this one! I think my daughter takes this one so seriously. You can tell she's thinking about what's on each page. This book helps drive home certain things that you don't want kids eating, like sand and soap. Repetition is key!

2. How to be a Princess- I reach this book multiple times a day. If you have a little girl, chances are she's impressed with princesses or the Disney Frozen movies. I love the Little Golden Books. They remind me of my childhood. You can order it local from Leana's Books and More!

3. Baby's First Very Noisy Book Zoo- If you haven't heard about Usborne Books, you're missing out in a big way. My child is in love with every single one I've purchased. She reads and plays with these books almost every day and especially at bed time. The Noisy Zoo book is one of her favorites.

I recommend it for infants about 7 months and up. My daughter is almost 2 and she still plays with the sound effects and points to each animal. If you can get a few of them, it's worth the investment.

These area really great gift ideas too.

A reading routine is good to start when they're infants, because they are absorbing and learning so much. Now every night, our bedtime routine includes reading two or three books.
